My name is Davit Turkestanishvili. I am Georgian and I love to cook! It was my longstanding dream to have a Georgian restaurant where I could share the story of my beloved Georgia through food. I wanted to tell about delicious tomatoes, of sun-ripened eggplants. To share my memories of fragrant grapes, pressed into bottles of excellent wine. Finally, my dream came true, and I have a restaurant. Its name is RUSIKO – from my mother’s name, who for many years ran this restaurant. We continue her tradition, enchanting the kitchen with the best Georgian dishes for you!
I also encourage you to visit my antique rug emporium. I’ve gathered masterpieces from various corners of the world, including Georgia, Persia, Afghanistan and central Asia, which you can and should buy! In keeping with the spirit of the Orient, haggling is very welcome!
Good news for wine lovers: you can buy all of the wines you enjoyed during your meal in our store in the carpet room. From December 2018 you can taste the wine that was made in my marani (place of wine production) in the heart of the Kakheti region of Georgia. Dry red grape wine from the endemic SAPERAVI varieties, has a deep color, a fruity nose with notes of cherry stones and ripe red fruit, a silky body and an earthy finish with notes of wood. This wine is unfiltered and it has undergone a natural fermentation process, slowly maturing for a year in old-fashioned kvevri. The wine may leave deposits in the bottle, therefore decanting is recommended. And, it is the most enjoyable when tasted in the company of friends! In 2018, we produced only 2,400 bottles for the 100th birthday of Grandfather Elizbar Turkestanishvili.
In November 2020, our wine was awarded a bronze medal at the 18th ENOEXPO International Wine Fair in Krakow!
